You Asked For It…
New Features, NileGuide Updates — By Josh Steinitz on May 2, 2008 at 2:31 pmThanks to everyone for the overwhelmingly positive feedback we’ve received since our public launch on April 28th. As with any new product, we’ve had some bugs here and there, but overall we’re incredibly excited about the reception we’ve received from consumers and the media.
We want to keep the NileGuide community in the loop about what our users have been asking for, and what’s coming down the road.
First, many of you have asked about support for older browsers like Internet Explorer 6, so we’re committing to supporting IE6 at some point in the near future to make sure our site is available to as broad of an audience as possible (we know some of you access our site from work, and your employer doesn’t let you upgrade your browser).
Second, we’ve had many requests for some social networking / social search integration so you can search and view your friends’ trips. Not surprisingly, this is also a key feature on our product roadmap.
Third, in response to your feedback, we’ll be giving our customized downloadable PDF guidebook a facelift, with an upgraded design to make it easier to read and more attractive.
Finally, we’ve had lots of good suggestions about additional destinations to cover. Rest assured, we’ll be growing our coverage at a rapid clip, as we plan to add more than 60 destinations over the next year.
Thanks again for all the “props” and constructive feedback — keep it coming!
