Quick Tip #3: Avoiding a Cold While Flying

Flying this holiday season? With all those germs circulating in that dry, recycled airplane air try these tips to make it to your next destination sneeze-free:
- Line your nostrils with a thin layer of Neosporin or other antibiotic ointment, and keep your nasal passages from drying out by using a saline nasal spray.
- Hydration is half the battle. Drink plenty of fluids, and toss an Emergen-C packet or two in your carry-on. They take up practically no space and provide you with an extra-large dose of Vitamin C and other vitamins.
- Bring your own pillow. Unfortunately, pillow cases and blankets are not changed or cleaned particularly often, so you’re better off supplying your own.
- Wash your hands regularly. Simply washing your hands regularly and thoroughly is one of the most effective ways to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.
