Celebrate the 4th Celebrity-style
Celebrity Travel — By Nicole Lerner on July 1, 2009 at 9:02 amTravelers in the US will be celebrating the birth of the nation this weekend, with barbecues, fireworks and a long weekend with Friday off from work. How are you ringing in the red, white and blue? Read on for some celebrity-inspired weekend recommendations:
Head to Hawaii
Those looking for a celebrity splurge should check out the Four Seasons, where Cameron Diaz and Nicole Scherzinger were recently spotted soaking up the rays poolside. While you’re there, visit Kona Brewing Company and sample a selection of the brewery’s eight varieties of beer a la Lance Armstrong or indulge in the shave ice President Obama and his daughters have enjoyed at one of many stands across the island.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
Conveniently located near Lincoln Center and Central Park, the Empire Hotel has seen its fair share of celebrities recently, from Heidi Klum to Rihanna to Andy Samberg. With rates dropping to below $200/night, you can grab a cocktail on the rooftop bar and enjoy a stay without a celebrity bank account. Check out our guide to an NYC Weekend on a Budget for other money-saving ideas.
According to Jaunted, Beyonce was already spotted getting a head start on the weekend yesterday in Miami Beach. The folks at Jaunted also outlined a pretty sweet package deal at the new Viceroy Hotel – $100 spa credit, breakfast for two, preferred VIP seating for fireworks display, two free drink coupons, 10% off bottle service, VIP access to Club 50 and valet parking starting at just $295/night.
With more celebrities per square foot than any other city, Los Angeles offers numerous opportunities to get the celebrity experience this weekend. Case in point, NileGuide’s Creative Director spent a weekend in Los Angeles recently and crossed paths with not one, not two but five well-known actors while dining about the city. Get a table at A.O.C., a Mediterranean wine and tapas bar, and you may come across Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart. Or snag your 4th of July coffee at Kings Road Cafe and you might run into Eric Dane aka McSteamy or Sean Hayes of Will & Grace fame. Looking for breakfast? Head to Toast and you might find yourself sitting next to Mark Wahlberg enjoying an omelet.
