Top 5 Ways to Stay Healthy, Happy, and Hot While on Holiday

Gear Guide — By Tyler Renaghan on September 3, 2009 at 2:56 pm

Now that you’ve got that perfect beach bod ready to show off, you might find yourself wondering, “How in the world am I going to maintain these rock hard abs while I’m on my 3 month trek across Europe?”  Have no fear, the NileGuide Gear Junkies are here to provide you with a few simple tips and pieces of gear guaranteed to keep you healthy, happy, and lookin’ hot during your travels.

  1. Jump Rope – A jump rope is small enough to roll up and stash in any carry-on and is one of the easiest and best cardio workouts while on the go.  Grab 20 minutes in between brunch and pooltime  and you can burn anywhere from 300-400 Calories!  The Four Seasons in Bali has a pretty nice view from their rooms looking out over an infinity pool…perfect place for a little double dutch.
  2. So fresh and so clean

Evian Spritzer – Unless you’re flying in a private jet with special humidifiers pumping moisture infused air throughout the cabin, I’m not even sure if that exists, you’ll probably be suffering from a bit of dry skin from the forced air in most commercial jets.  Your expensive chemical peels and facials don’t need to go to waste just because you’re flying non-stop from New York to the Big Island of Hawaii.  Do as celebs and models do and bring an Evian Spritzer to refresh, rehydrate, and revitalize your beautiful youthful face.  If celebrities and models use it, so should you!

  3. Ankle Weights – Whether trekking through Macchu Picchu or dancing the night away on the Las Vegas Strip, you might as well make a work out of it with some discrete ankle weights.  They might be a little bit harder to conceal for the ladies, but the gentlemen should have no problem strapping on a few extra pounds and busting some sweet moves.  Believe me, your legs will thank you the next day while sunning at the pool.
  4. Hair Trimmer – You’ve spent all this time and money getting your body in to perfect shape for your vacation, why let a little unwanted and unsightly body hair ruin your entire trip?  With this hair trimmer you can keep your side-burns from turning into Elvis’, keep your eyebrows separate, and keep time in Brazil classy.
  5. Workout while you walk

MBT’s - What the heck are MBT’s?  Masai Barefoot Technology sneakers.  Since the ankle weights were more for the men, here’s some sweet shoes pretty much guaranteed to keep those legs toned and the bottom tight.  Don’t believe me?  Here’s a quote from a girl I know who swears by these butt tightening leg toning miracle of a shoe, Throw some ankle weights on your wrist, and you’ve turned a day shopping into a workout…”

If you have some other suggestions, please let us know…there are TONS of ways to stay healthy, happy, and hot while traveling.

    A few exercises ideas:

    Running on the beach.
    Swimming in the ocean.
    Lifting heavy souvenirs.
Wrestling other tourists while waiting in line.
Running behind (instead of riding on) the tour bus.

The Evian Facial Spray (travel size 1.7 oz.) is approved by the TSA for bringing on board commercial flights. Further, it is a great way to hydrate the skin while sun bathing (under sun screen) and it also removes pool water chlorine and salt water salt. Neither chlorine nor salt (including perspiration) are good for facial skin so bring one to the gym. Evian also comes in 5 oz. and 10 oz. sizes.
