Travel Around Alaska with Sarah Palin
Travel News — By Jay Way on March 31, 2010 at 10:59 amSarah Palin, the former governor and current native of Alaska, will be featured in an eight part travel documentary on TLC highlighting the wonders of the northern state, called “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”. Some are referring to it as a reality show centering on the state’s traditions and attractions as well as the inhabitants. Fmr. Governor Palin will serve as tour guide and storyteller.
The show, a collaboration between Sarah Palin and Mark Burnett, the Emmy-award winning executive producer of “Survivor” and “Celebrity Apprentice”, was first pitched to the four major broadcast networks, who passed on the idea. One reason cited by the networks was that the show was not centered around or titled “The Palins”. Another executive complained that the show was merely a travelogue about the state of Alaska. Eventually the pitch went to Discovery and A&E, with Discovery winning out the rights in a bidding war, which reportedly fetched the show $1 million per episode, a hefty price tag for a brand new cable travel series.
Although some questioned the move by Discovery, the purveyor of classics such as “Planet Earth” and “Life,” about signing with Palin, whose environmental stance including on climate change is not in total conformity with the network’s, the company’s Chief Operating Officer said, “Discovery Communications is so excited to help Sarah Palin tell the story of Alaska,” and believed that the series would reveal the state’s hidden beauty as told by “one of its proudest daughters”. Executive producer Mr. Burnett also said, “I can’t think of anyone more compelling than Sarah Palin to tell the story of Alaska.” In Sarah Palin’s own words, “I look forward to…bring[ing] the wonder and majesty of Alaska to all Americans.”

Yes, $arah will be doing 8 parts saluting the splendor of Alaskan nature. In the first episode she guts a bear, then in the next she stabs a moose, she copter kills a wolf on episode 3, on 4 she harpoons a beluga whale, 5 is a good one $arah machetees a polar bear family, wait until you see what she does to the carabou in episode 6, the American Bald Eagle was ASKING for it on episode 7 and on the 8th episode $arah has her slave children cook it all up in savory nature based stew.
$arah Palin turned lovely quaint Wasilla into a strip mall/meth lab and she will teach me about nature. TLC must be distributing drugs to their staff these days, whoever bought this tripe has to be high.
