In honor of World Oceans Day (June 8th), Winery Insider and Humanitas Wine Company are offering customers the opportunity to feel good about buying acclaimed, limited production booze with 100% of profits going to ocean-related organizations to support ocean conservation and Deepwater Horizon oil spill relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico. The donations will be made on all Humanitas wines bought on wineryinsider.com on June 8th, including the highly-acclaimed Caldwell Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the Humanitas Signum (signature reserve wines) and the Good Earth (vineyard designate wines) tiers.
“We feel privileged to play a small role in helping ocean related organizations respond to this crisis and raise awareness of the fragility of the world’s oceans,” said Tony Westfall, co-founder and President of Winery Insider.
Winery Insider is also offering first-time customers $10 Insider Credits to use towards their first purchase. Humanitas is a Napa Valley-based vineyard, that since its founding in 1997 has donated its profits to local charities that focus on education, hunger and housing. Humanitas makes donations to regional chapters of charities based on where their wine is purchased.
World Oceans Day was officially recognized by the United Nations since 2008, but it has been unofficially celebrated since it was first proposed by the Canadian government in 1992. Since 2002, The Ocean Project and the World Ocean Network have helped to promote and coordinate World Oceans Day events worldwide, involving aquariums, zoos, museums, conservation organizations, universities, schools, and businesses. Check out their website for a full list of registered World Oceans Day events all over the world.
