Beijing to Open Center For French Wine

A French wine cultural center is being developed in Beijing and if all goes according to plan, will be opened by the end of 2010. The center is being planned by French politicians with Chinese private investors and will surely be the first of it’s kind. The 1,000 square meter facility will also sell wine on site for interested customers.
Ya Ding, The head of Franco-Chinese cultural relations, said that the hope of a French cultural center focusing on wine, will make the wine industry more understandable and interesting to the Chinese people. In the meeting between French politicians and Chinese investors, one of the main concerns was wine counterfeiting; a problem which has been plaguing French winemakers for some time now.
While the French and Chinese continue to smooth out their plans for a French wine center in Beijing, all eyes will be on China and their growing cultural and economical interest in the wine industry.
