With the rise of technology and the accessibility of information, it’s never been easier to find “the one”. Gone are the days when you found your mate at a bar or social event. More and more people are turning to online dating services like eHarmony or Match.com, as well as social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook. There’s even a select few that believe they can find the right partner on TV, with shows like Flavor Flav’s “Flavor of Love” and “The Bachelor”. However, there’s now a new twist to dating, that will let you travel to be with your potential love. A couple sisters in Japan have taken finding the right one to a new level: kung fu fighting.
A modern day Mortal Kombat of love, a couple Japanese sisters decided to let their love life be a result of the outcome of their combat tournament. Contestants who make it through the tournament have the best chance of scoring a date with the sisters. According to the UK’s Metro, the martial arts sisters have created a tournament that tests the combat skill of their suitors. The combat tournament gets off to somewhat of a light start, with men having their archery skills tested. The second challenge gets more difficult, as men have to carry a heavy weight over jagged bamboo spears. The final test is full contact combat with the sisters, who did we mention our martial arts experts?
As the Metro states, certainly to no one’s surprise, there’s only been a few contestants that have come forward to accept the challenge. The sisters claim that when using dating agencies, the men they dated were too weak and could easily be defeated in combat. This act of choosing a mate is an old practice that dates back years ago when warrior princesses would use similar means to find a man. Book now that trip you’ve always wanted to Japan. If nothing else, it’ll be an adventure, even if you’re not the “chosen one”.
