Starlet Accosted in Customs, Ordered to Cease Making Bad Movies

It’s a sad day when Rachel McAdams (of  The Notebook, Wedding Crashers, and Sherlock Holmes fame) is accosted in an airport upon arrival to America.  According to the Daily Mail, the star recalled a story from a 2007 trip when she was told by an airport official to “stop making stupid movies.” Apparently, the incident was kicked off by her ‘offensively’ dyed pink hair, which she was rocking at the time for a movie role and occurred when McAdams was in immigration control– the star has a green card that allows the Canadian citizen to work in the US.  True to form, McAdams handled the confrontation easily perhaps setting a new celebrity precedent.  According to witnesses, she was polite and simply grateful that she was allowed to pass through immigration without any other problems than her past love of pink hair and ‘offensive’ movie roles.

OK Magazine speculates that the customs official had been referring to her role in The Hot Chick.  Yes, it’s true; that was a horrible movie, but seriously, hasn’t Rachel McAdams proven herself since then?  McAdams has played numerous roles that have shown considerable depth and creativity since her part in The Hot Chick.  In fact, most of us had completely blocked out the two hours we’d spent watching it.  Since then, she’s starred in The Notebook, Red Eye, Wedding Crashers, and State of Play just to name a few.  And who could forget Mean Girls?  Perhaps that customs official should have insulted the writers of The Hot Chick instead of McAdams.
