Travel and Make Money While Doing It
Travel News — By spencerspellman on November 17, 2010 at 11:30 amEven though traveling sometimes involves a seemingly never-ending stream of delays, usually these are just limited to trying to get where you want to go. Generally speaking, travel is easy! And we’re not just talking about the one-week vacation to Aruba via JetBlue either, but extended types of travel. There has been a growing movement over the last few years of backpackers, expats and other travelers who take to the road for anywhere from a couple months to a couple years. Surprising to many in the corporate world is how it is feasible to save so much money and travel for as long as a couple years.
Outlandish as it may sound to travel the world, many people aren’t saving heaps of money, but are actually working along the way to pay for their travels. According to a SavingAdvice article, travelers are finding unique ways to work while on the road. Such a lifestyle can involve working in exchange for accommodations– campgrounds, hostels and farms are just a few of the places around the world that are providing free accommodations for travelers who work in exchange for it. Many farms will also provide meals.
The SavingAdvice article stated that for those who don’t want to do a work/exchange program, there are plenty of other opportunities available to support traveling. Some of the other opportunities include working for cruises, signing on with a temp agency or even doing a part-time job, such as a bartender. Many of these jobs are seasonal and allow you to move around from destination to destination.
