A Trifecta of Airports With Terrible On-Time Performance

There seems to be a constant debate of the best and worst airports in the nation. Many people may think their home airport is the worst, until they find themselves in an airport that’s lacking even more, leaving much to be desired. So which city really has the worst airport? According to Gothamist, the city with the worst airports is none other than New York.

It’s not just one New York City airport, but all of the airports that are the worst. Based on statistics, chances are high that you’re going to run into a snag when flying in or out of any of the New York City airports. However, if given the option, choose LaGuardia, which is the best of the worst in the Big Apple.

The airport statistics rated 27 airports around the U.S., measuring things such as airport amenities, on-time departures and arrivals, and security wait time. Newark was the worst of the three major airports. There’s a 25% chance that your flight is going to be delayed when departing Newark. However, you should be more concerned with your safety as Newark is next to last among tarmac nightmares. The worst for tarmac incursions would be JFK. All this to say, if you have to fly in or out of New York City during the holidays, try to make it LaGuardia.

[Eds note: and speaking of airports, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, especially if you have to fly in and out of LGA, JFK, or EWR!]
