Fashionable Seniors and Trolol Song Puts Sicilian Town on the Map

You don’t have to be young to be a supermodel these days – turns out being a senior fashionista can make you just as famous as a 20-something blonde bombshell. In what might be one of the most absurdly effective commercials ever made, an Italian clothing store by the name of Sicilia Fashion Village has made the teeny-tiny town of Agira a huge hit.

The video, featuring eccentric elderly men and women sporting colorful garments, offers a look inside rural Sicily in a town with just 8333 inhabitants. The town has the kind of romantic quality you immediately picture in your head when you hear the word “Italy.” Its actors are incredibly quirky: Antonino is a gent characterized as wearing “Experimental Scottish Elegance” and Giuseppa is livin’ the “Oriental Fashion Dream” (among others). The seniors sashay through town, walk through cobbled streets and socialize with friends over a card table.

Somehow, the whole thing is unbelievably dreamy.

The idea works: the video already has over 100,000 hits. Never mind the fact that the retailer actually sells clothes made for young people.

Of course, the Trolol music in the background doesn’t hurt either.
