Get a Good Night’s Sleep by Crawling into a Womb

Insomnia and sleeping disorders are no joke. You can pop pills, shoot whisky (but don’t combine the two) or practice yoga and meditation. Or you can pretend you’re a fetus.

In the Canary Islands, the Corallium Spa at the Gran Canaria’s Loepsan Costa Meloneras resort has introduced The Womb Room. Starting at just 35 Euros, you too can re-enact what it feels like to be curled up surrounded by amniotic fluid, naked, waiting to exit the birth canal.

Alright, so The Womb Room isn’t exactly like that. The entrance of the room is made from pink carpet and is referred to as the “neck of the uterus,” while the entire treatment room is covered in red and pink fabrics to represent the womb. The treatment room itself revolves slowly to simulate an umbilical cord. The amniotic sac? A red waterbed.

The low-lighting and music mimicking what noises sound like outside the womb apparently promise a good night sleep for those who need it, and so far the treatment has been met with rave reviews. Seriously.

Or if that’s not weird enough for you, why not try snakes slithering up and down your back? A bath in wine or coffee? Sterilized nightingale excrement facial? The choices are endless!
