Nope, it wasn’t some sort of advertising stunt by Southwest Airlines, but if they’re smart about it they could easily turn it into one. Fresh from a trip to a science convention in San Francisco, the handlers of a penguin that live in SeaWorld San Diego decided to let them “stretch” their feet on a Southwest flight back home. What ensued was a brief lesson in science and how to be utterly cute as they waddled up and down the aisle. We’ll let the video speak for itself: (via Huffington Post)

It seems that not only do penguins stir up the “awwwwww” factor in people, they also seem to really bring out the best quotes in people:

It’s practically impossible to look at a penguin and feel angry. — Joe Moore

THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ME I TOOK THIS FLIGHT LIKE INFINITY TIMES WHEN AT UCSD AHHHHH. Now I know the biggest regret of my life– not being on that plane. – NileGuide’s own Rachel Greenberg.
