Aqua Hotel Offers Discount Rooms for Producing Birth Certificate

Obama is over it. Now it’s time for everyone else to prove their citizenship, American or not.

Well, at least showing your birth certificate can procure you a discount at Hawaii’s Aqua Hotels between now and August 6th. The hotel chain decided to benefit off the hype around Obama’s birth certificate debacle and offer 15% off their best rate to anyone who shows any version of their true birth certificate upon check-in. And all Obama got was Trump off his back.

Sure, Obama’s birth certificate story may have been overshadowed by that whole Bin Laden thing, but a discount is a discount, right? Other new and noteworthy offerings from hotels include two free nights for returning soldiers at a Maui hotel thanks to the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association, and never having to leave Facebook to get discounts or book rooms thanks to internet marketing company Fuel Interactive. Whew, typing that extra web address was wearing us out, wasn’t it?

Of course to get the “birther” discount at Aqua Hotels, an actual birth certificate is necessary. Many of us don’t have that laying around, or it’s sitting at the bottom of one of those unpacked boxes in the back of the attic. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to get your birth certificate quickly, such as through US Birth Certificate or Vital Records Assistance.

Or, there’s the old fashioned way: going through the (long and arduous) US government website.

Either way, take advantage of Aqua Hotels’ somewhat odd sense of humor while you can.
