New Mexico provides some of the most majestic views in the United States, especially when it comes to desert scenes. Red rocks jut out in some parts, large mountains covered in snow are found in other areas, while the Rio Grande winds its way through the state. The population is heavily Hispanic or Native American, and these influences are seen in much of New Mexico’s art.
Driving West on I-40 or another highway always offers a beautiful view in New Mexico, but none quite as spectacular as when the sun in setting. If you have time, stop in a designated area to watch the sun lazily descend behind the massive rocks in the distance.
