Aww – Southwest Does A Passenger Right

Finally, Southwest is making some passengers happy!

After a year of generally irritating everyone from Kevin Smith to a weight-loss blogger – usually for the same reason – it looks like Southwest is turning out some good press.

One of their flight attendants so impressed a couple on a recent flight that the guy logged onto Facebook while in air (on one of their handy-dandy wifi enabled flights, yes) and gave his positive feedback to Southwest. He even went so far as to say someone should meet them at the gate to give flight attendant Holly a raise, promotion, or best yet, a Chipotle burrito.

So Southwest officials decided to not go with any of his recommendations. But, they did bring Holly a cookie cake at arrival (here’s to hoping she doesn’t eat gluten-free).

Smart as Southwest is, though, they took up the passengers offer to sign a contract stating he would only fly Southwest as long as Holly is a flight attendant there. Hopefully Delta is not listening and creating plans to steal her away with promises of Chipotle burritos.

In these days of underpaid and overworked flight attendants, service isn’t always so stellar, as a USA Today Travel article noted last year. Still, there are plenty of situations where flight attendants go above and beyond the call of duty, such as when one attendant phoned the departure airport when a young flyer couldn’t find his passport. They tracked the passport down and Fed-Exed it to Europe.
