Suermondt Ludwig Museum

Description:

  • The impressive collection of medieval German sculpture, one of the finest in the land, includes a Madonna in Robes (1420) from the Swabian school and a Virgin and Child from the 14th-century Tournai school. The second landing has a good collection of primitive Flemish and German works, along with 17th-century Dutch and Flemish paintings. Look for works by Van Dyck and Jordaens. The museum also has modern works, especially from the 1920s and 1930s.
