Cabaña de Caleta (La) - Acapulco

  • NileGuide Expert Says:

The best breakfast and lunch spot in Caleta (the morning beach) with all the history you could wish for as well as a thriving contemporary popular culture.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Arrive early and pick your table on the beach, start with coffee and limonadas for the kids and gradually order your breakfast and if it does not get too crowded stay also for lunch making your table your base (waiters will keep your things while you go for a swim).

    Description:

    • Entertaining visitors to the old "morning beach" since the fifties, this great establishment under thatch but right on the edge of the sand, is superb for specialties such as baby shark tamales (de cazon) and octopus salad. But this is also good for huevos rancheros and other grand Mexican breakfasts, and fruits and juices as well as lunch dishes from enchilias to ceviche and the paella isn't bad either. Weekends often see music under the thatched roof or you can dine under parasols with your feet stirring up the sand, while the youngsters sip their limonadas and scurry among the waves. A great famility restaurant and a classic Acapulco fixture.
