Description:

  • Frutiland is a no-nonsense, pleasant, family-run restaurant, centrally located in the Golden Zone a few steps off the Costera near the municipal golf course. It serves inexpensive, fresh, basic Mexican food and is an especially good place for breakfast. Frutiland is owned and operated by the wife of Rudy, owner of Tours by Van, one of Acapulco's very best tour operators.

A good choice any time of day is the chilequiles, crisp tortilla chips covered with chicken or egg and bathed in red or green sauce, topped with grated cheese. Breakfasts include a fruit plate served with granola, yoghurt, and honey or egg dishes: try the Huevos Los Huerfanitos (Little Orphans' Eggs), which are prepared with tomato, onion, chile, sausage, and cheese. Lunch and dinner options include baguette sandwiches, hamburgers, and chicken, tuna or turkey salads.

Frutiland is on the little side street called Costera Vieja near the Fiesta American Villas Acapulco and Hotel Presidente.
