- Since first opening their doors in 1988, the Jay Bharat Restaurant in Artesia has been supplying the Southland with distinct specialties from the Indian region of Gujarati. A favorite amongst frequent visitors are the different varieties of Thali, which is a tray containing small servings of rice, lentils, yogurt, vegetables and chutney in individual dishes. The resturaunt also specializes in Indian candy such as the fudge-like burfee, or balushahi, which is similar to a cookie. If you cant get to Artesia, or even California for that matter, Jay Bharat offers all of their snacks and sweets at their website as well.
