• Cuisines: Seafood
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Probably the best place for authentic Mexican seafood cuisine at non-tourist prices (yet still safe on the tummy).

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

While La Jaiba Locca is open only for "lunch", in Acapulco this means starting your midday meal anytime between 2 and 6 in in the afternoon, so those still on a different time system could even come for an early dinner.

    Description:

    • La Jaiba Locca (the "Crazy Crab") is the reason why most visitors to Acapulco might discover the residential neighborhood of Costa Azul (set back away from the beach, but easily reachable from anywhere in the Golden Zone by taxi). This is where the Acapulqueño middle classes come to have lunch and as a result you will find authentic coastal cuisine, and fresh ingredients and very decent prices (200 to 300 pesos for a main dish). Leave room for desserts, which are local fare and very good (pay de elote with helado de coco, or flan de cajeta). Dress is informal but smart.
