The Fairmont Pierre Marques is a recently renovated Acapulco institution, and one of its finest hotels. On Diamond Point, there are incredible views of both the bay and the mountains from the private beach and several pools, and the location and atmosphere make this an incredibly tranquil and peaceful place to stay. The Diamante Area in Acapulco is the newest part of town. This is where the luxury hotels and mansions are to be found. However, there are also some of the most beautiful beaches and places to visit, such as Capilla de la Paz, a church of remarkable beauty located at the top of a hill. From here, you can see the whole of the bay and port of Acapulco and the most exclusive residential area of Las Brisas. The attractions also include restaurants such as Los Pavorreales for a delicious Mexican breakfast, or Beto Godoy and Cevichería Linda for a seafood lunch. And for a wide range of cocktails, stop off at any of the luxury hotels such as Mayan Palace, Pierre Marqués or Quinta Real, to enjoy a drink at their lobby bars, with live music, a distinguished ambience and excellent service. Description:
World famous for its spectacular and wonderful sunsets, Playa Pie de la Cuesta is located in a small fishing village, only 15 kilometers north of downtown Acapulco. An ideal destination for a relaxing day trip, it has a good selection of restaurants and beach clubs, such as Tres Marías and Villa Rubí. Because this is open sea, the surf is strong and not recommended for swimming. Though the sand is white and fine, which provides the ideal atmosphere for a moonlit evening camping out.

You will find these delicacies in the Mansión Bohemia, a restaurant property of Alicia Marino, a singer from Acapulco who entertains lunchtime visitors with beautiful songs from the state of Guerrero. A great way to explore Acapulco Bay is to take a glass-bottomed boat tour around the bay and out to Isla Roqueta, where there are several places to eat and an exotic species zoo. From here, take a half-day snorkeling tour off of the isla to get a closer view at the sealife. Get a view from the top of a mountain while enjoying one of Acapulco's finest restaurants at Kookaburra, which has traditional Mexican as well as Latin and international fusion.

Day Note:
Walk around the Zocalo and the central area of town and stop into any of the small businesses around here to get a sense of local Acapulco. In the afternoon, make a visit to the Laguna de Tres Palos, where you can do anything from water-skiing to bird-watching in this huge beautiful lagoon with diverse wildlife. Madeiras is the perfect place to relax at the end of the day with a margarita overlooking the bay, and has spectacular international fusion fare.

Also know as the Plaza Alvares. Nice place to sit and people watch. Beautiful open air church. This is where you will see some of the original architecture of Acapulco.

This is the main plaza in Acapulco, an 'alameda' shaded by beautiful trees and ornamental plants. There is a bandstand, and on Sunday afternoons tourists and locals can enjoy free music and dance shows. Around the plaza are many craft shops, as well as Acapulco's Cathedral and some banks and travel agencies. Behind the plaza, visit the historic neighborhoods of Acapulco, and in front of it, have a look at El Malecón, where the yachts sail out every day.

Description:
One of the best places to partake of the Thursday tradition of eating pozole, Los Cazadores opens at 2pm to start serving the stew (and stays open until midnight). Show up after 4pm if you want to hear live music while you enjoy a giant bowl of pozole, and then dance off the calories on the dance floor. Being a traditional pozole house it is only opened on Thursdays.
