Description:
One of the best economy options in the heart of the old city of Aix is in a converted abbey in a tranquil location with a private garden. The original cloister dated from the 14th century, but it was reconstructed in the 16th century. In 1980 its owners restored the abbey and converted it into a well-run hotel, offering one of the best deals in Aix. The bedrooms are decorated with antiques, some from the reign of Louis XIII, others from the period of Louis XV. Rooms also come in the Empire style, and others have no discernible decor at all, but look as if they were decorated by your Provençal grandmother, assuming you had such a relative. Breakfast is served under a vaulted cloister.

Located in the centre of Aix with free parking is the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Our room (albeit in the lower price range) was very small with no space for a luggage...
