Musée Toulouse-Lautrec

Description:

  • The Palais de la Berbie (Archbishop's Palace) is a fortified structure dating from the 13th century. This museum contains the world's most important collection of the artist's paintings, more than 600 in all. His family bequeathed the works remaining in his studio. The museum also owns paintings by Degas, Bonnard, Matisse, Utrillo, and Rouault. Three additional rooms, each of them a brick-lined refuge within the premises of a neighboring historic building, house some of Toulouse-Lautrec's earliest works, formulated during his earliest creative years.
