Description:

  • The Scene
At breakfast on the weekends, hip downtown 20-somethings sit at the
outside tables for coffee. The affluent and the overflow from
the yoga center across the street mingle in a New York-style dining room
that looks like something out of Architectural Digest. During weekday
lunches, the place is full of downtown power-lunchers.

    The Food
The breakfast menu is simple, but elegant. Highlights include the
hearty cowboy breakfast: a huge green-chile cheese biscuit stuffed with
scrambled eggs, smoked ham and house-made mascarpone. Eggs eleganza is a
tasty eggs Benedict takeoff, substituting brioche and goat cheese for
English muffins and Hollandaise. Their honey-red, chile-glazed bacon is the
best in town: sweet, smoky and slightly spicy. Gold Street's great coffee
comes from a private roaster in Seattle and Rio Grande Roasters. They also
have a huge selection of Italian sodas.
