Description:

  • San Isidro Labrador—or Saint Isidore the Laborer, patron saint of farmers—is revered in New Mexico, and at the South Valley Growers Market, it shows. The South Valley is a truly rural part of Albuquerque, so some of the best produce in town is to be found here. Enjoy browsing through the beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables on display: grown within a radius of a few miles, they have zero carbon footprint. Live music is presented most weeks: check the online schedule for details. The Market is located right beside the South Valley Pool Park, which may come as a welcome reprieve after a morning spent shopping under the hot sun. The market is held every Saturday May through October. - Pip Lustgarten
