Where are the best cheap eats (not fast food!) in DC Metro Area? We have a family of 6 and are on a budget for our 8 day trip...Four kids ages 11, 9, 7 and 2. Please help!

Any place that's a Cosi, Panera, Potbelly, Five Guys, Chipotle (THE BEST), Ledo Pizza, Robeks (healthy type stuff), Noodles and Company is usually a good bet.

Using the link as a guide is a good bet because this way you can choose other cities in the area as you travel.

There are a few great places in Chinatown, if your kids like Asian food. They are cheap and use fresh ingredients. Another restaurant I really like is Bar Pilar

Bar Pilar (Cuisines:American, Modern, Tapas/Small Plates)
1833 14th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20009
Phone: 202-265-1751
Nearby Metro Stops: U St./African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo
