Description:

  • In a romantic setting in the South Downs, this old pub serves good food and plenty of beer and ale in the satellite village of Kinston, lying 4.8km (3 miles) southeast of Lewes. A tile-coated 1400s cottage, it is said to be named for a woman called "Juggs," who walked from Brighton with baskets of fresh fish for sale in the countryside. You can still order fresh fish here along with such English specialties as steak-and-kidney pudding and roasts. Look for daily specials as well. For dessert, why not have the homemade chocolate brownie with chocolate fudge sauce?
