- The new shopping area in the centre of Almere-Stad is a great experience. It's a raised shopping area, free of cars, with the public transport (buses) driving below the shopping district. All the big and fancy names are represented in the new shopping district of Almere and it's only five minutes walking from the central station or just one stop with the bus, from the central station. When you are tired of shopping there are some nice places to go eating or you go watch a movie in the cinema or you can enjoy the rustic view over the Weerwater lake at the back of the shopping district, where you have a nice open space to sit down and chill.
