Marina Grande

Marina Grande is Amalfi largest beach, which stretches from the central Piazza Flavio Gioia to the eastern end of town. The Corso delle Repubbliche Marinare is the local name for the Amalfi Coast Road (SS 163) as it runs through town just above the Marina Grande beach. Here you'll find a wide sidewalk, called "Lo Stradone" by the locals, which is a popular spot for the evening passeggiata (walk). The view looking over the Marina Grande beach makes this a lovely spot for enjoying lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants or cafés overlooking the sea. Along the Corso delle Repubbliche Marinare you'll see the small Largo Scario, a small piazza with shops and cafés surrounding a pretty fountain, and the church of San Benedetto.
