- The Pacific Ranger District offers varied opportunities for hiking and backpacking, fishing, boating and swimming, picnicking and camping, nature trails, and scenic drives. Special features include the Quinault Rain Forest Nature Trail, the Quinault Valley Loop Auto Tour, and wilderness hiking in the Colonel Bob Wilderness Area. Watch for Roosevelt Elk along the way!

The Pacific Ranger District encompasses the western portion of the Olympic National Forest and includes the areas that were formerly the Soleduck and Quinault Ranger Districts. This scenic district stretches from the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Lake Quinault along the border of the Olympic National Park and includes the Colonel Bob Wilderness. U.S. Highway 101 runs through the district from north to south provides the best access to the area.
