• Located in the heart of Jordan's capital Amman, Al-Hussein Youth City which spans an area of 860 dunums, was an endeavor by the beloved late King Hussein Bin Talal, who wanted to create a state-of-the-art sports complex, to enable Jordanian youth to take advantage of cultural activities and to get involved in numerous competitive sports and disciplines. Starting in 1964, Al-Hussein Youth City was built over a four-year period, and is continuously upgraded and maintained under the supervision of His Majesty King Abdullah II. It remains one of the most impressive, top-of- the-line sports multiplexes in the Middle East. In addition to sport facilities, administrative buildings and social outlets, one third of the Sport City is covered with trees, in addition to playgrounds and rest areas.
