Cafe Lef

Description:

• Cafe Lef is a friendly local bar run by a Dutch/Canadian couple. It's one the few traditional Dutch bars remaining, where the locals stand around the bar for a chat with whoever happens to be there. It's a good place to pick up tips. Music plays in the background, but it's not so loud that it's intrusive. They have a wide selection of beers and its one of the few bars in Amsterdam where you can happily enjoy the house wine. There are no tables with chairs in the bar, but there are bar stools and cocktail tables.
  
  They allow smoking in one half of the bar, so if you're extremely anti-smoking, you're probably best avoiding Cafe Lef.
  
  They also serve a limited menu, which includes a great home made burger with fresh salad. They also serve tostis and home made soup.
