If you've spent some time walking around Amsterdam, you will have noticed that some of the buildings are very narrow. This is because back in the day, property was taxed on width, and so the thrifty Dutch built incredibly narrow and deep houses. These buildings now make for some very fun restaurants, as it's interesting to see how they use their space. Quirky decor is also common, and combined with a laid back attitude, you'll always find the vibe for a good night out.
