- Despite the luxury hotel's 5-star features, the most remarkable feature of this hotel is its building. The former Shipping House was constructed between 1912 and 1916. As it is considered to be the first building built entirely in the Amsterdam School architectural style, it is a city landmark. The interiors, however, are decorated in an Art Nouveau style with warm but crisp and contemporary colors. Each room has a free minibar and wireless internet connection in addition to all other 5-star amenities. The staff takes its 5-star rating very seriously when it comes to service, which is always prompt and polite. The hotel also boasts an upscale French/Mediterranean restaurant as well as a casual bar/lounge with light bites as well as a fitness center and business facilities.
