Description:
- Located close to Amsterdam's Dam Square, Brasserie Harkema is large contemporary urban styled restaurant which was once a tobacco mill. The staff are all dressed in smart but casual uniforms and the table combine quality without the formality of some upmarket restaurants. Despite its popularity with locals, seating for over 100 guests means that you'll normally get a table. Mediterranean The open kitchen is an impressive element within the restaurant. You can see the chefs, pots and pans, steam and fire. The food has Mediterranean influence and is of excellent quality for a reasonable price. One small irritation is that they have two types of staff, which isn't immediately recogniseable. One sort of waiter is only for clearing tables and the other is for ordering. It can get frustrating when they're busy trying to get the attention of the right 'sort'.

Nice food, nice atmosphere
-
Food was good, a little pricey but the decor and ambience of the place was great for a night out in Amsterdam. Fishcake entree was lovely! Would go back again

Disappoiting French cuisine experience
-
The food quality is far far below a standard expectation of French cuisine! The recommended Entrecote is so disappointing!
