• This hip restaurant, cafe, cocktail bar and club is located on the top floor of the former Volkskrant newspaper office, offering spectacular views across Amsterdam from East to West. It's located along the Wibaustraat and therefore easy to reach in a few minutes on the Metro which runs underneath the street to Central Station, or it's a 20 minute walk from the centre. The informal decoration and setting makes this the ideal place to chill with a newspaper during the day or wind down with some loungy tunes in the evening. Around 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays,  the tempo is ramped up a notch or two and the dining tables are moved away to make space for the dancefloor. The menu is limited, but what they do offer is non-pretentious good value for money, fresh food. It's really worth the 15 minute walk from the centre simply to admire the view from the large roof terrace and lay back in a deck chair with a delicious cappuccino.
