- Hein is a small and charming lunch cafe in Amsterdam's 9 Streets shopping area. Chef/owner Hein Jansen prepares everything herself in the small open kitchen, which customers must walk through to get to the seating area. There is a diverse set menu as well as daily specials. Thick Turkish yogurt with honey, crepes stuffed with chicken, quiche lorraine and fresh lentil salad are all worth trying, but the french toast is the real gem at this joint - pure homemade deliciousness! Hein is also open for private cooking lessons or dinner parties in the evenings, a minimum of 10 guests is required. -Shayne Gottdenker
