• A bit hidden behind the Americain Hotel, De Smoeshaan (The Talkative Cock) is a typical hangout for actors and actresses of stage, film and television when they are next door at the small Bellevue Theater. The interior is rather 'brown' and the furniture is old and comfortable. Next to the pub, where a variety of small snacks is served, there is a full-fledged restaurant upstairs with a reasonably priced menu with some good a la carte dishes. Amstel is offered on draught, and many brands of bottled beers are served.
