If you're looking for healthy, homemade, fresh, well priced food, look no further. It's not the sort of place you go for a romantic evening, but during the day or for a quick bite in the evening it's the perfect location. As the name suggests, it only sells soup. They're all home made on the premises and when they're finished they close. As well as the traditional staples such as carrot and coriander and cream of tomato they also offer more filling stew type soups and a mix of flavors from all corners of the world.
The soups are served in a special paper bowl/cup and come with a huge chunk of bread in a basket. The soups are available in three sizes to suit all appetites and offer a healthy and reasonable priced alternative to fast food. Also an excellent choice for vegetarians. They have two restaurants in Amsterdam where you can sit at the bar in the window and watch the world go by. The outlet on the Joodebreestraat has a small terrace outside all year round.
