Description:
This place would almost be worth a visit for its unusual name alone, so it's doubly gratifying that the food is good, too. The interior is typical neighborhood-eetcafé style, with the day's specials chalked on a blackboard, a long table with newspapers at the front, and the kitchen visible in back. High cooking standards, however, put this place above others of its kind. The eclectic menu changes seasonally, but its range has included Thai fish curry and pandan rice; saltimbocca of trout in white-wine sauce; and artichoke mousseline with tarragon sauce and green asparagus. In fine weather, eat under the trees on an outdoor terrace beside the tranquil Leliegracht canal.

Had to eat a second lunch

Really bad food. Even though I asked beforehand (because I have the experience, that the tourism areas of Amsterdam have TINY lunches) the lunch didn't even make me half-full....

Great for a beer and quick bite

We've visited this place for lunch, beer and something sweet. Very friendly stuff, great owner, good old music in the background, tasty food and affordable prices.
