Amsterdamse Bos

Description:

• The Amsterdamse Bos, or Amsterdam Forest, is located in the Southwest of the city and offers a massive recreational area of around 2x5 kilometres, for people seeking an escape from the bustle of the city. The park offers a mix of forest, lakes and open meadows. There are also a number of restaurants, snack bars and activities, such canoe and boat rental, a children's zoo, swimming pools, cycling, fitness circuits and tennis. The park also hosts an outdoor amphitheatre which shows one performance during the summer months, normally in Dutch and an activity centre for both adults and children which allows them to tackle a number of aerial walkways and activities suspended in the trees.
