- One of the oldest buildings in town and now used to house art expositions and galleries. It is part of the Westfries Museum. The building was first constructed in 1653 and was called the St. Jans Gasthuis and it was a hospital. Much later the building was used as a covered market for trading butter and that's where the current name originates from. I actually worked there in my high school years, selling entrance tickets to tourists and sometimes leading them around town.
