    A reconstruction of the VOC ship Amsterdam which sank during its maiden voyage is part of the museum and open to the public. You can climb on board and watch actors in period costume reenact life at sea. Great for kids!

    • Set sail at Het Scheepvaartmuseum, the National Maritime Museum, and discover the sea's impact on Dutch civilization. Whether you step aboard a replica of a Dutch East India Company ship or travel aboard a virtual voyage, you can explore the museum's interactive exhibitions. See ship models, navigation instruments and other historical artifacts. The museum, restaurant and shop are open daily from 9:00 to 17:00. Admission is €15 euro for adults, €7.50 for students and children ages 5 to 17. The venue also provides educational programs, children's activities and tours.
