Restaurant Amsterdam is a long-standing favourite with families. It has a small area of activities to keep them busy, along with the old pumping equipment, and lots of space. See: http://www.nileguide.com/destination/amsterdam/restaurants/cafe-restaurant-amsterdam/321624

Also Ij Kantine at the NDSM Ferry Terminal in Amsterdam Noorth has a small childrens corner with toys and outside in the summer there's plenty of space to play.

Or why not get the kids to cook for you and be entertained at the same time. At the kinderkookkafe, from 15:30 on a weekend, children between the ages of 6-12 can cook for you. See: http://www.nileguide.com/destination/amsterdam/restaurants/kinderkookkafe/321770
