I m not an expert on the city of Amsterdam, but I can tell you a thing or two about Utrecht, my hometown. Its only 35 kilometers away from Amsterdam, and worth a visit.

If you're interested in learning more about Utrecht, just check my Localyte profile and if you want, contact me again.

Enjoy your stay in the Netherlands!

Depending on what sort of music you like, here are a few recommendations:

www.lolas.nl - Restaurant upstairs, bar downstairs with a small dancefloor. It's a chic crowd of 30 somethings.

www.pacificparc.nl - Also a restaurant until around 11. Then this old warehouse turns into a disco for several hundred people. Music is mainstream.

www.hotelarena.nl - This hotel complex also has a nightclub in the old church. It's a spectacular venue, and the music changes weekly, from retro to techno. So check out the website.

www.winston.nl - Tends to attract a 30 something crowd at the weekends. During the week, it's a lot younger.

Odeon - Has several floors with different types of music. Mixed crowd.

The larger disco's such as Escape tend to attract a younger audience.
