most welknown tourist places are madame tousaud waxmuseum on the Dam Square, canal boat tour, Rijksmuseum with dutch 17 century Paintings and the albert Cuyp Market.
but once here there are lots of other places you will like

I have walked the following way in Amsterdam last friday and it was very nice
Central Station- Boat to Rijksmuseum-Vondelpark-Pc Hooftstraat_leidseplein-Kalverstraat-Waterlooplein-Wallen_Damrak_Anne Frank and Jordaan. 8km walking
