  • Whether you're in Antigua on a honeymoon or to celebrate a romantic occasion, or just to get away from the kids, there are many romantic things to do on the island. For a perfect getaway, head to Mosquito Cove Beach, a well-kept Antiguan secret -- well, until now. Except for yachtsmen, adventure seekers and local villagers, this beach has largely been kept secret. It's a short drive off the main road, but well worth it. The beach has an incredible vista with two large tamarind trees framing the turquoise sea. The water is usually calm, but when it's rough, simply lounge on a towel under a tree.

Choose from the three-hour Sunset Cruise, the four-hour Lunch Cruise, the six-hour Special Day Cruise with Lunch, or the eight-hour Super Day Cruise that combines the Special Day Cruise with a chance to watch the Sunset before returning to harbor.

    For a million-dollar view of the island, visit Shirley Heights Lookout. Up on a hillside overlooking English Harbour, this area is a stopover for most visitors. Some come to see the massive fortifications on the hill, others to see the view and still others come to dine at the Lookout Restaurant on the hill. Thursdays and Sundays are especially popular as there are often steel-pan bands and a festive atmosphere. There are plenty of romantic things to do to make your stay in Antigua a holiday to remember.
