Harry Paul has been encouraging Samoans to resume making handicrafts. His shop carries some of the resulting works: bone fishhooks, carved war clubs, spears, hair clasps and ukuleles made from coconut shells, and orators' staffs and "horses tails" of the type carried by high-talking chiefs. He also has imported handicrafts from Tonga, Fiji, and other South Pacific islands.
